Saved Baby Great Horned Owl

Driving home from a McGinnis Slough going down 135th I noticed some cars stopping and saw a women and a man flagging people over. Slowing down I saw the baby owl in the road and stopped to help. There I met Becky and Tom if my memory serves me right. Everybody was on the phone trying to get help. One of the places we got a hold of was the Illinois Raptor Center in Decatur and they advised me to get the owl off the road and leave it for the parents that will be near by. We managed to guide it back into the woods where for an hour or so I watched it hop back into the woods. I felt comfortable when I heard the baby owl call for the parents and heard a return call. What an awesome experience!!!
